Practical Leadership 2.0: Building Effective Teams

This workshop is designed specifically for team leaders and provides tools and ideas that you can immediately implement.

Many work environments are increasingly complex and uncertain, requiring high functioning teams. Effective teamwork and collaboration needs to be cultivated and given regular attention. This workshop helps team leaders develop shared leadership among team members and provides concrete tools for improving collaboration between team members.
 
This workshop is designed specifically for team leaders and provides tools and ideas that you can immediately implement. It is one of MCN’s most popular trainings and consistently receives high evaluations. 

This is a six-hour virtual training spread over three two-hour sessions on March 9, 16, and 23 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. central each day.

  • Engaged team characteristics
  • Co-creating effective team agreements
  • Cultivating trust among team members
  • Navigating conflict in teams
  • Supervisor role in fostering engaged teams
Learning Objectives:
 
  • Increase understanding of the team as a separate entity that needs care and attention
  • Acquire methods of creating shared accountability within teams
  • Learn latest research about what creates engaged teams
  • Gain skills in airing and resolving conflicts within a team
Note: We also strongly recommend you take Practical Leadership 1.0: Cultivating Thriving Supervisory Relationships. While no material is repeated between the two courses, the curriculum of Practical Leadership 1.0 and 2.0 complements each other.

This event is presented in partnership with the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Maine Association of Nonprofits. Speaker Information

Lisa NegstadLisa Negstad consults with a diverse clientele of nonprofits, philanthropies, and government in leadership and organizational development. Believing anyone can be a leader, Lisa lives in two worlds: traditional hierarchies, where she helps managers excel in their role, and collective teams, where she helps groups think systemically and improve their shared leadership skills. Before starting her own consulting firm, Lisa held senior leadership and management positions in several international and U.S.-based nonprofit organizations. Lisa has an MBA from Yale and a B.A. in psychology from Luther College and is certified as a Human Systems Dynamics professional. Lisa, an ongoing learner of cultural agility, brings a strong value of inclusion and participatory processes to her training.
