MCN Employee Benefits

Paid Vacation
MCN offers a generous time-off package that encourages staff to take time for self-care,  spend time with family and loved ones, and achieve a healthy work-life balance.

Effective January 1, 2024, all new employees begin accruing an annual total of 22 days of paid time-off (PTO) from their first pay period.

Personal Days

Each regular and long-term temporary employee of MCN also receives two personal days to be used in each calendar year (pro-rated for part-time employees). These days are granted automatically upon hire or anniversary of hire or benefit eligibility, and are not eligible for carryover from one year to the next.

Summer Hours

MCN will grant all regular and long-term temporary employees up to an additional eight hours paid time off per month in May, June, July, and August (pro-rated for part-time employees), intended to be used the last Friday of the month.

Earned Sick and Safe Time

Full-time employees will accrue 80 hours of paid sick and safe a year, or 3.08 hours per pay period; earned sick and safe time accrual for regular part-time employees is prorated according to hours worked. Employees may carry over any accrued and unused earned sick and safe time to the following calendar year, and may not at any time exceed a maximum balance of 780 hours, at which point an employee will stop accruing earned sick and safe time.

MCN will be closed to regular business on all MCN observed holidays. Holiday pay will be paid, based on base pay for an eight (8) hour day, to all regular and long-term temporary employees (pro-rated for part-time employees).
