In this session, we will delve into strategies for nonprofits to effectively incorporate Minnesota's new legislation, including cannabis and lactation laws, into their HR policies and general operations. The goal of this session is to provide an employments lawyer's perspective in a manner that is accessible for non-lawyers, and to help you develop human resources policies that reflect recent legislative changes. 

There will be time for Q&A at the end of the session.

Speaker Information

Zaylore StoutZaylore Stout is an attorney, certified human resource professional, community organizer, and author. A Southern California native, he graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and founded Zaylore Stout & Associates in 2012. His firm represents businesses in employment law and corporate disputes. He’s served on the board for RECLAIM, Quorum, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and FairVote Minnesota. His firm is certified as a small, disadvantaged, minority, LGBT, disability-owned business and was the inaugural recipient of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Business of Pride Award. Zaylore’s first book Our Gay History in Fifty States, an LGBTQIA+ history book, was released in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. The text has since won many awards and is currently being used in the State of Illinois for teaching their LGBTQ+ curriculum. He’d currently working on the next book of the series Our Black History in Fifty States slated for release Juneteenth 2023.
