Policymakers need public input to develop good ideas into good policy, and nonprofits are valued experts in our areas of specialty. Nonprofits of all shapes and sizes must partner with our governmental partners through advocacy and lobbying to cultivate strong, thriving, joyful communities. 

Are you ready to dip your toe into advocacy? Maybe your toe is already in the advocacy waters and you are looking for opportunities to keep honing your skills. Speaker Information

Bethany SnyderBethany Snyder, MPP, is an Advocacy Strategist, Enthusiast, Optimist – and the founder of Snyder Strategies, LLC, a boutique consulting firm she formed to share and leverage her deep understanding of the advocacy world with nonprofit and membership-based organizations.

With nearly 25 years of experience in communications, advocacy, and public affairs, Bethany is a seasoned professional and a nonprofit advocacy expert. She has been on all sides of the advocacy desk - as a grassroots advocacy director, a lobbyist, a consultant, a comms director, and a US Senate staffer. She helps turn nonprofit supporters into lifelong advocates- and donors. In addition to her advocacy clients, Bethany currently serves as the Director of the Iowa Nonprofit Alliance, which represents Iowa’s 23,000 nonprofits organizations and its professionals and is dedicated to growing and strengthening Iowa’s nonprofit sector. Bethany received her bachelor of arts in sociology and women’s studies from the University of Iowa and has a masters in public policy from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
