  • Permissible nonpartisan election activities.

  • Ideas to jumpstart your efforts like candidate questionnaires and voter guides.

  • Important election information including what’s on the ballot, how to vote, and voting information for specific communities.

Social media toolkit with resources to support your nonprofit's communications, including:

  • Sample messages with key information for your community, including voter registration reminders, how to vote if you’re a new citizen or experiencing homelessness, and what’s on the ballot.

  • Social graphics to catch your audience's’ attention.

In creating these resources, we chose a theme and artwork we hope resonates across Minnesota: Our slogan is  “Democracy is in our Hands”. We hope to have captured the truth that democracy is not about one election (but remember this is a big election!*), and we encourage every nonprofit to be active in advocating for change.

Nonprofits have a unique and vital role to play in our democracy. We are trusted messengers, with the ability to support under-included communities in civic engagement. When we engage people in voting, we are supporting one piece of their civic engagement. Talking with elected officials and centering community voices is another. We hope these new election resources empower your voter engagement work and help build your nonprofit’s advocacy capacity.

If you have questions about these resources or voter engagement efforts, please contact Ileana Mejia, public policy advocate. These resources were created in partnership with Ntxoo Art and Minnesota Translator and Interpretive Cooperative.

*In the November 2022 election, Minnesota voters will decide: all 8 MN U.S. Representative seats, Governor and Lt.
