You can’t lead what isn’t visible. The organizations we lead and the people at the heart of our work are connected in many marvelous and diverse ways that result in interdependent human systems. The reality about social change and human systems, just like ecosystems, is that they are complex...and they change in unpredictable ways. The systems that exist, the problems that emerge, and the opportunities that are possible are not linear and they shouldn’t be oversimplified. But sometimes the complexity can feel paralyzing and the traditional tools of management leave us swirling in circles. One of the most profound ways to shape and lead within a human system is through visualization.

This interactive session will explore practical visual management strategies and you’ll walk away with actionable insights so you can:

  • Make the culture of your organizational ecosystem visible
  • Cultivate the complexity that is necessary and remove complications that gets in the way
  • Use simple visualization tools to improve shared understanding and illuminate wise action
  • Lead an ever-evolving organization towards mission-driven outcomes
The workshop is done in partnership with the Maine Association of Nonprofits
