MCN is seeking 16 AmeriCorps VISTA members for full time, year-long service positions starting in August. We partner with Minnesota nonprofits led by immigrant and refugee communities and communities of color to grow their community impact and ensure operational sustainability.

Speaker Information

Jesse ChangJesse Chang is the VISTA program manager at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. In this role, he bridges the national AmeriCorps VISTA program with local, culturally based nonprofits to help empower marginalized communities and individuals in the Twin Cities break the cycle of poverty. Additionally, Jesse supports the professional and personal growth of VISTA members as they develop the foundational skills to become champions of equitable social change.

Jesse holds a B.A. in geography from Colgate University and served as a VISTA member with affordable housing nonprofits in Chicago, IL and Columbus, OH before coming to MCN.

TroyeDyllaTroye Dylla is the VISTA leader with MCN’s AmeriCorps VISTA program. In their role, Troye supports the personal and professional development of MCN’s VISTA members so that at the end of their service term, VISTAs have the skills to continue being champions for equitable social change.

Before transitioning into the VISTA Leader role, Troye was the community outreach coordinator at 826 MSP, a part of MCN’s 2018-2019 AmeriCorps VISTA cohort. They hold a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis in human rights and justice.

WarsameWarsameWarsame Warsame is the Central Minnesota regional coordinator and the Saint Cloud VISTA coordinator at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. In his dual role, Warsame serves as a liaison between MCN’s main office and nonprofits in the Central Minnesota region. He also serves as a VISTA coordinator, where he collaborates with MCN’s VISTA Program Manager on strategic initiatives, host site and member recruitment, as well as cohort management in the Saint Cloud area.

Warsame holds an M.P.A from Saint Cloud State University with a concentration in Nonprofit leadership and management and a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Political Science from Winona State University. His passion to serve and contribute to the non-profit sector stems from his belief that nonprofits are efficient gap-fillers especially when the private and government sector fail to address the diverse needs of communities.
