Many work environments are increasingly complex and uncertain, requiring high functioning teams. Effective teamwork and collaboration needs to be cultivated and given regular attention. This workshop helps team leaders develop shared leadership among team members and provides concrete tools for improving collaboration between team members.

This workshop is designed specifically for team leaders. It is one of MCN’s most popular trainings and consistently receives high evaluations. It is available both as a six-hour in-person training and as a live virtual training spread over three two-hour sessions. You will receive with tools and ideas that you can immediately implement.

In this six-hour virtual training, we’ll cover these topics and more:

  • Engaged team characteristics
  • Relationship System Intelligence
  • Co-creating effective team agreements
  • Cultivating trust among team members
  • Supervisor role in fostering engaged teams

Through this training, team leaders will:

  • Increase their understanding of the team as a separate entity that needs care and attention,
  • Acquire methods of creating shared accountability within teams,
  • Learn latest research about what creates engaged teams, and
  • Gain skills in airing and resolving conflicts within a team.

Note: We also strongly recommend you take Practical Leadership 1.0: Supervising for Employee Engagement. While no material is repeated between the two courses, the curriculum of Practical Leadership 1.0 and 2.0 complements each other.

This virtual training will also be offered in December 3, 10, and 17; if December is better for you, please visit the Events page to register.

This six-hour training will be spread over three sessions on June 11 18, and 25. Each of the three sessions will be from 10 a.m. - noon Central time.

Feedback from Past Participants

"From start to finish, this was not only completely relevant and useful to my everyday supervision experience, it sparked ideas and inspiration. The presentation was also great!"

"Lisa's expertise and passion for the subject made the training super informative and engaging. Examples and tools were very relevant to my needs as a supervisor and I left with clear ideas of ways I can approach working with my team."

  • What if I have a conflict with one of the three parts? Each session builds upon the previous session. Therefore, if you have a conflict with one or more of the parts, we recommend not registering for this training. Consider registering for one of the other virtual trainings in 2019: June 11, 18, and 25 or December 4, 11, and 18.
  • Will the sessions be recorded? Because of the highly interactive nature of this training, which will include ongoing conversation via chat and polls, it will not be recorded.
  • Can registrations be shared? To achieve the best possible learning outcomes during this training, each participant needs to have their own connection to the virtual classroom, which means registrations can't be shared. Participants will be actively engaging with the trainer via chat and polls, and thus each needs to have their own keyboard, computer, and connection to the training.

Technology Requirements

This training is hosted in Adobe Connect. You will need a computer with a reliable high-speed internet connection to view the training. (While Adobe Connect does have a mobile app, its functionality is limited and does not support all the engagement tools that we use during virtual trainings. Therefore, we do not recommend using a smartphone or tablet to view the training.)

You will also need a phone as you will be interacting with the trainer and other participants via voice; you can’t use a computer speakers/microphone to do this training.

Information about how to log into this training will emailed to you at least two days before it begins. If you don’t receive this email, please first check your spam folder, then contact
