Shannon McCarville joined the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits as the program coordinator in 2009. Shannon works with MCN’s program director to manage the logistics and execution of the organization’s educational and training programs, which include over 80 small and large workshops and seven conferences per year. Most recently Shannon was the events and volunteer coordinator at The Loft Literary Center and prior to that held several positions at a touring educational theater. Their previous nonprofit experience also includes working at a homeless newspaper, a youth center, and several arts organizations.
Shannon is the chair of the board of She Rock She Rock, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls and women through music, and a member of the international Girls Rock Camp Alliance. They are also on the advisory committee of 20% Theatre Company Twin Cities, which promotes women and transgender artists with a focus on social justice and human rights. Shannon is also a working artist in theater and music in the Twin Cities. They have a B.A. from Antioch College.
