In his role at the VISTA leader at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Patrick supports the growing leadership of a diverse group of VISTA members to become social change agents at nonprofits working to alleviate poverty. An alum of St. Catherine University, Patrick strives continually to amplify, elevate, and celebrate the voices of marginalized people worldwide.

Prior to his VISTA service at CAIR-MN (2019-20), Patrick served as a Peace Corps volunteer on Zanzibar Island as a World Health Organization schistosomiasis research & control worker, as a doctoral researcher on improved infant/child feeding on a Fulbright scholarship to Tanzania, and as a contributing faculty member at Walden University, College of Health Sciences (2011-2020). He is also a member of the Minnesota Department of Health Health Equity Leadership Network, a recent participant in the Wilder Foundation Neighborhood Leadership Program, and a global public health scholar/practitioner.
