West Central Minnesota

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) maintains regional offices as a means to provide area nonprofits with locally based opportunities to build the sector’s capacity and strengthen its effectiveness. Through its regional presence in Moorhead and West Central Minnesota, MCN amplifies its mission by working to inform, promote, connect and strengthen individual nonprofits and the nonprofit sector.

MCN's West Central Chapter is comprised of 14 counties in Minnesota: Becker, Cass, Clay, Crow Wing, Douglas, Grant, Morrison, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Todd, Traverse, Wadena and Wilkin.

An advisory committee, made up of representatives from area nonprofits, helps set priorities for programs and projects to be offered in the West Central Minnesota region, advises the regional coordinator on a variety of nonprofit issues and helps to broaden MCN's regional network. Representatives on the committee include area leaders who represent MCN member organizations.

Advisory Committee Roster:
Thomas Hill, Community impact director, United Way of Cass-Clay
Wendy Merrick, program director, West Central Initiative
Lexi Ostrich, program officer, Fargo Moorhead Area Foundation
Kathy Potter, executive director, Access of the Red River Valley

MCN works regionally with the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations. We are regional partners in the Fargo / Moorhead area.
