Northwest Minnesota

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) maintains regional offices as a means to provide area nonprofits with locally based opportunities to build the sector’s capacity and strengthen its effectiveness. Through its regional presence in Northwest Minnesota, MCN amplifies its mission by working to inform, promote, connect and strengthen individual nonprofits and the nonprofit sector.

MCN's Northwest Chapter serves the 12-county region including Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Kittson, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake and Roseau Counties.

An advisory committee, made up of representatives from area nonprofits, helps set priorities for programs and projects to be offered in the Northwest Minnesota region, advises the regional coordinator on a variety of nonprofit issues and helps to broaden MCN's regional network. Representatives on the committee include area leaders who represent MCN member organizations.

Advisory Committee Roster:
Jason Carlson, C.E.O., Tri-Valley Opportunity Council Inc.
Connie Carmichael, executive director, Living at Home of the Park Rapids Area
Gabriel E. Warren, assistance professor of marketing, Bemidji State University
Laura Lobo, owner, Pizzazz Your Voice

MCN works regionally with the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations. We are regional partners in the Grand Forks / East Grand Forks area.
