Northeast Minnesota

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) maintains regional offices as a means to provide area nonprofits with locally based opportunities to build the sector’s capacity and strengthen its effectiveness. Through its regional presence in Duluth and Northeast Minnesota, MCN amplifies its mission by working to inform, promote, connect and strengthen individual nonprofits and the nonprofit sector.

MCN's Northeast Chapter is comprised of 7 counties in Minnesota: Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis.

An advisory committee, made up of representatives from area nonprofits, helps set priorities for programs and projects to be offered in the Northeast Minnesota region, advises the regional coordinator on a variety of nonprofit issues and helps to broaden MCN's regional network. Representatives on the committee include area leaders who represent MCN member organizations.
