Performance and Compensation Practices

Nonprofit organizations do not mean all volunteer organizations. Nonprofit employees provide valuable service and dedication and should be compensated for their work. Organizations looking to hire the best and brightest must offer competitive salary and benefits. It is critical, however, that nonprofits not over-compensate, which can be seen as wasteful uses of charitable dollars. There are many resources for determining competitive compensation, including MCN’s Minnesota Nonprofit Salary and Benefits Survey.
