The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) and The McKnight Foundation are proud to announce the 2015 Virginia McKnight Binger Unsung Hero Awards. These individuals have been recognized for the significant impact they have had on the state of Minnesota and its communities.

Mary Powell of Shoreview

Mary Powell is currently the president of the board of directors at the Center for Engaging Autism, an organization she co-founded in 2010 after her retirement. Previously, she served as the executive director at the Autism Society of Minnesota, began the Annual Minnesota Autism Conference, developed a summer camp for children with autism and served on a number of boards throughout the Twin Cities.

Robianne Schultz of Perham

Robianne Schultz is the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network's lead volunteer. In this role, she helps advocacy volunteers talk with elected officials about increasing cancer fighting policies and has been an instrumental advocate for many pieces of legislation. Additionally, Robianne volunteers with the East Otter Tail County Relay for Life, runs a cancer survivor support group and participates in many community events.
