Sick and Safe Leave Ordinances In Effect July 1

Minneapolis and St. Paul will both began enactment and enforcement of their sick & safe leave ordinances on July 1, 2017. This may impact your organization and we want you to be prepared!

You may have heard about legislation at the state level that would prevent these ordinances from being enacted – Governor Dayton vetoed that legislation that would have prevented cities from enacting local labor requirements that deviate from state law. So, these ordinances are moving forward.

MCN firmly believes that nonprofit organizations play an essential role within our communities. As this process rolled out for sick & safe leave in Minneapolis and St. Paul, nonprofits were continuously held up as impressive examples of how these policies already exist throughout Minnesota. But, these policies may bring up some questions. And, importantly, they are different policies. So, you may have questions navigating some of these scenarios. We can help answer your questions or get you to the right people!
