The Minnesota Department of Education Accepting Applications for Approved Authorizers

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) has released a request for applications for entities who are interested in becoming an approved authorizer. Minnesota authorizers may be public schools, charitable non-profit organizations, or institutions of higher education approved by the state. Through effective oversight, authorizers are responsible for holding charter schools accountable to student outcomes and achievement in Minnesota.

An information session is set for Wednesday, March 23, 2016, from 9-11 a.m. Those interested in attending should RSVP by Friday, March 18, 2016 to mde.charterschool@state.mn.us.

Applications are due April 27, 2016. To view the New Authorizer Application, please visit MDE’s website (http://education.state.mn.us/MDE/StuSuc/CharterSch/index.html).
