Ten Nonprofits Receive Professional Development Scholarships through Deluxe Corporation

Thanks to funding from the Deluxe Corporation, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) is able to offer scholarships for nonprofit leaders from 10 organizations to attend various MCN workshops and conferences of their choosing over the next ten months.

We’re pleased to announce the 10 scholarship recipients!

  • Adults' & Children's Alliance (ACA):  We serve children by supporting those who care for them.
  • African Economic Development Solutions: To support wealth creation within the diverse African immigrant communities of the Twin Cities region by providing customized financial literacy training, micro-entrepreneurship training, coaching assistance for individuals and small businesses, and homeownership education.
  • Bisexual Organizing Project: Build, serve and advocate for an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community to promote social justice.
  • City of Lakes Community Land Trust: Provide and foster stewardship of perpetually affordable home ownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals and families throughout Minneapolis.
  • Isuroon: Build Somali women’s self-sufficiency so that they can lead healthier, more productive lives in Minnesota, nationally and in Somalia.
  •  Lake Street Council: Engage, serve, and advocate for the Lake Street community in Minneapolis to ensure the vitality and prosperity of the corridor and our South Minneapolis neighborhoods.
  • MAD DADS of Minneapolis: MAD DADS works to bring about positive change, to seek out, encourage, motivate, and guide committed men and women in the struggle to save children, communities, and ourselves from the social ills that presently plague our neighborhoods.
  • SELF International, Inc.: Promote literacy, creative education in science, math and the arts for all ages in order to heighten personal and national levels of academic achievement.
  • Think Again MN: Think Again MN engages people in exploring public policies aimed at inspiring them to participate in civic activities that promote justice, equality, fairness, opportunity, and sustainability and that reduce racial and economic disparities.
  • Youth Performance Company: YPC is dedicated to igniting and fueling the artistic spirit of youth by developing, empowering, and advancing young artists.
