15 Nonprofits Receive Professional Development Scholarships through Deluxe Corporation

Thanks to funding from the Deluxe Corporation, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) is able to offer scholarships for nonprofit leaders from 15 organizations to attend various MCN workshops and conferences of their choosing over the next ten months.

We’re pleased to announce the 15 scholarship recipients!
  • Aynah: We connect students and communities with cooperative development to address the gaps in cooperative education and sustainable development worldwide.
  • Bach Society of  Minnesota: The mission of the Bach Society of Minnesota is to build a diverse community with the passion for performing, promoting and appreciating the music of J.S. Bach.
  • Community Access for New Immigrants & African Refugees (CANIAR): To orientate, educate and empower new immigrants and African refugees to develop a sense of vibrancy and acknowledge passions that life offers.
  • Cycles for Change: To build a diverse and empowered community of bicyclists.
  • East Side Learning Center: The ESLC provides free one-on-one reading tutoring for St. Paul students in grades PreK-3 who read below grade level and are unable to get help elsewhere.
  • Eat for Equity - Minneapolis Branch: Eat for Equity builds a culture of generosity through sustainable community feasts. We invite people to come together to eat, drink, give what they can and raise thousands of dollars for other nonprofit causes.
  • Galore: Professional Hmong Women's Network: To support the economic transformation of Hmong women's lives through personal and professional growth.
  • Kids 'n Kinship: To provide friendship to youth in need of postive adult role models
  • Lakeshore Players, Inc.: Lakeshore Players mission is to provide community enrichment opportunities through the performing arts. Lakeshore serves as the premier performing arts center for the White Bear Lake area and is committed to providing opportunities for our community to participate in and experience live theatre.
  • Parents United for Public Schools: Parents United for Public Schools unites and empowers those who value public education in Minnesota to be strong advocates for excellence in our public schools.
  • Payne Phalen District Five Planning Council: To improve our Payne Phalen neighborhoods by engaging, educating and empowering all residents in our diverse community.
  • Rock Star Supply Co.: Rock Star Supply Co. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages 6 to 18 with their writing skills and homework, emphasizing cross-curriculum creativity.
  • Rosemount Area Arts Council: Building and strengthening our community through the arts.
  • The Whole Learning School: The Whole Learning School provides personalized academic learning paths, integrated with life and social skills, for qualifying students with autism or intellectual disabilities.
  • Women's Initative for Self Empowerment (WISE) Inc.: The mission of WISE is to empower immigrant women and girls to succeed through advocacy and innovative culturally competent services.
