“In tight times more than ever, nonprofit managers need ready-access to the resources and information that will help them to do their jobs better and more efficiently,” said Christine Durand, MCN communications director. “Our new Nonprofit Resources Library offers nonprofits the ability to easily find answers to their questions about almost any nonprofit management topic – from social media tips to disclosure regulations.”

The new site’s design features easier navigation, a powerful search engine, an extensive document library, increased interactive features, and more. New navigation will guide visitors easily through the site with clear labels and content organization. A high-powered search engine provides quick searches of information on the site.

New features in the MCN site include:

  • Enabling visitors to browse and learn about Minnesota’s nonprofits, nonprofit management and individual organizations.
  • Find expert legal advice on thousands of common legal questions in the searchable Nonprofit Legal Handbook, part of the Nonprofit Resources Library. The Handbook, accessible at no additional charge to leaders, staff and volunteers at all 2,000 MCN member organizations, provides attorney answers to frequently asked questions on topics ranging from intellectual property and employment law to unrelated business income and property taxes.
  • A searchable Nonprofit Directory will enhance nonprofits’ abilities to collaborate and connect with one another across geographic boundaries.
  • The enhanced Nonprofit Job Board, the largest nonprofit job bank in the country, is quicker, more efficient for hundreds of thousands of nonprofit jobseekers to connect with nonprofit employers.

“Our new site is the fastest, easiest way for Minnesotans to find information about impact and transparency of our communities nonprofits, for nonprofit managers to find resources to help them do their jobs better, and for organizations to share best practices among their peers,” said Durand.

The comprehensive website redesign was based on extensive feedback and input from MCN members and completed by the Washington, D.C. firm Browser Media.
