Organization Summary:

Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota is a statewide resource development and support organization that serves, advocates for and advances the work of Minnesota’s Habitat for Humanity affiliates who build decent and affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Habitat Minnesota is dedicated to helping affiliates build more Habitat homes and increase the number of owner-occupied repair projects through our resource development and support programs, including the Habitat 500 Bike Ride. Last year, Habitat 500 participants raised over $300,000, allowing Habitat for Humanity to build and repair more homes in Minnesota, around the country, and across the globe. The Habitat 500 has a wide reach with up to 135 participants, 40 volunteers, and thousands of donors and supporters.

Job Type: Intern - Paid Salary: Paid Internship ($10/hr)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week 
 

Primary Duties:

Assist with planning the Habitat 500 Bike Ride, a 500-mile, 6-day bicycle ride fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, which takes place the week of July 13-19, 2019. Work with the Development and Communications Director and Communications Specialist to plan event logistics, coordinate volunteers, communicate with participants, market the event, update the event website, contribute content to event social media accounts, write newsletter articles, and assist with all other aspects of planning the Habitat 500, including data entry and other administrative tasks.

 
Must be available to travel with the Habitat 500 during the week of July 13-19, 2019.

Experience:

  • Detail-oriented
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with event planning or nonprofit fundraising
  • Enthusiasm for the work of Habitat for Humanity
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and an interest in cycling a plus
