Primary Duties:

 

Opportunities

  •  Coordinate proposal writing process with project teams
  •  Create, review, and maintain standard proposal content using best practices and style guidelines
  •  Incorporate sales strategy into proposals to create an overall theme throughout the document
  •  Tailor proposal responses to appropriate audience (e.g., executive-level, review team practitioners, government agencies, nonprofits, foundations, etc.)
  •  Maintain current staff biographies and related content for proposals

Marketing 

  •  Develop and maintain marketing strategies, key messages, and core content for IG brand and positioning
  •  Develop and maintain style guidelines
  •  Review and edit external content for spelling, grammar, brand voice, and style guidelines
  •  Develop and review content for the monthly eNewsletter, The Improve Groove
  •  Support social media presence by reviewing content and contributing to posts, tweets, etc.
  •  Write articles for external venues; review and edit articles written by others for external venues
  •  Write and review content for company website and update regularly
  •  Coordinate media strategy and relations
  •  Support event planning, including IG-hosted events and conference opportunities
  •  Identify and pursue opportunities to promote staff as experts in evaluation
  •  Identify and research strategic clients

Project Support 

  •  Provide writing and editing support for client work and other non-marketing content as needed 
  •  Assist with ‘best and final’ presentations and materials
  •  Serve as writing resource for staff, providing training and best practices support
  •  Provide support for projects as needed (e.g. editing materials, performing basic analysis tasks)

Experience:

 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or other related field
  •  At least 5 years’ experience in professional writing and editing
  •  Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills
  •  Strong communication skills required
  •  Experience in proposal writing or similar type of project work
  •  Experience with social policy issues
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
