Location: Twin Cities Metro Activity Area: Recreation, Sports, Leisure
Category: Health/Human Services Workforce Closing Date: open until filled
Job Type: Part Time Salary: $15-$16 per hour
Hours: Thursdays and Fridays 5pm-10pm and Every Saturday rotating between 11am-5pm and 5pm-10pm 
 

Primary Duties:

Activity Assistants are responsible for observing and interacting with program participants on a mentor level, providing opportunities for them to interact and learn in classroom and non-classroom situations.

Job Responsibilities

·          Instruction of classes/electives/clubs in an area of expertise (art, technology, wellness etc.)

·          Supervision of students on recreation and leisure activities

·          Assisting members in resolution of issues and concerns

·          Providing transportation and support for regularly scheduled trips to grocery store, YMCA, etc

·          Acting as first-responder in emergency situations


Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a discipline relevant to the above duties (i.e. Special Education, Youth Work, Sociology, Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, etc.), be working toward one of the above degrees or possess equivalent experience

• Possess skills in one of the areas indicated above

• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiating skills

• Positive attitude and desire to work collaboratively

• Current driver's license with a good driving record and able to pass a criminal background check
