Cornerstone is a $4.8M agency with approximately 90 employees. We provide specialized services within eleven cities, including Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Edina, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. Louis Park, and Minneapolis. Our organization serves individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking, with office locations in Bloomington, Minneapolis, and Brooklyn Center. Cornerstone has developed one of the most comprehensive service continuums for victims of violence in Minnesota. Our services are designed to move individuals and families from crisis to safety, stabilization and security. Last year approximately 4,000 individuals accessed Cornerstone programming. Primary Duties:

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Community Liaison/Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy and supportive services for at-risk or survivors of sexual exploitation, as well as providing outreach, training, and education to key community partners (law enforcement, non-profits, schools, etc.). While a significant portion of time will be spent providing individual advocacy services, serving as a liaison with organizations who have contact with sexually exploited youth will also be a part of the position. This may include one to one supportive sessions, group facilitation, phone triage, information and referral, and case management services. This position is expected to work throughout all of Cornerstone’s target cities and provide services in the office, community, and homes of participants.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Service: * Provide phone or in-person support for at-risk or survivors of sexual exploitation and triage for appropriate services if needed. * Conduct intake with survivors of sexual exploitation and their families, assess needs and implement appropriate services or make referrals for services * Complete safety plans * Collaborate with School-Based Services to provide prevention services in the school that includes classroom presentation, one to one support for students, or staff training as needed * Facilitate support groups for at-risk or survivors of sexual exploitation at Cornerstone or in the community Community Coordination: * Develop professional relationships and maintain a practical understanding of available community resources  * Provide outreach to law enforcement and schools within our service area with a focus on developing relationships that build knowledge around identification, intervention, and referral for sexually exploited youth or young adult * Serve as a liaison to non-profit partners serving sexually exploited youth or young adults, providing support, education, and interagency referrals. * Collaborating with training coordinator to provide educational presentation or trainings to students, educators, community partners, law enforcements, etc. regarding screening or signs of exploitation * Provide outreach to various locations i.e. literature drop, resource fairs, panel discussions, faith based communities about sexual exploitation * Create outreach, marketing, and educational materials about sexual exploitation * Work collaboratively with Safe Harbor grantees to serve at-risk or survivors of exploitation * Participate in relevant community committees and/or task force * Provide relevant supportive services to youth and youth adults who are at-risk or survivors of sexual exploitation * Advocate on behalf of participants with community organizations, schools, or human services system in order to coordinate care * Perform other responsibilities requested or approved by supervisor Administrative Responsibilities: * Properly document all incidents, follow accident prevention policies to ensure that clients are not unduly exposed to preventable injuries * Work in compliance with all Cornerstone policies and procedures * Maintain accurate, complete, confidential participant information in files and data base in a timely manner * Enter all required participant information into Apricot and submit necessary information for grant reports * Maintain confidentiality of records in accordance with current HIPAA standards Human Resources: * Report continuing education as requested Organizational Expectations: * Must be available to work a minimum of 2 evenings a week * Must complete the required sexual violence/domestic violence training within the first 6 months of employment * Ability to travel to various location for participants or professional meetings * Participate on internal committees as assigned * Attend all-staff meetings and trainings * Promote Cornerstone mission and philosophy * Display high ethical/professional standards


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or social sciences and experience working with at-risk or survivors of sexually exploitation. Understanding of Safe Harbor laws. Ability to develop working relationships with community organizations, schools, law enforcements, hospitals, etc. Experience facilitating training or public speaking is desirable. Understanding of community resources, and how to access them. Ability to work independently and to make decisions under pressure. Experience working with diverse population. Must have access to a reliable car and possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license and provide proof of ongoing automobile insurance. Candidates of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
