Organization Summary:

Loaves and Fishes serves hot, nutritious meals to the hungry in the areas that need it most. In addition to our main mission, we also partner with human service organizations to help our guests address their other basic needs, which are key to becoming self-sufficient. Our ultimate goal is to provide nourishment through food and community. We have 28 dining sites (including our “Mobile Meals” food truck), 29 summer sites, and 5 farms/gardens. The majority of our sites are located throughout the Twin Cities metro area. We are present in seven counties, serving urban, rural, and suburban residents. Loaves and Fishes’ programming is supported by over 10,000 volunteers. We are not a religious organization.

Hours: Weekends 2-7pm 

Primary Duties:

Position SummaryThe Site Coordinator works with volunteers to create and serve nutritious meals to our guests. The Site Coordinator supervises all site activities and is in charge of running the dining site from open to close.  

Essential Job Functions (listing the most important first):

  1. Responsible for overseeing meal preparation by volunteers. Must be able to conduct all meal preparation independently or with minimal volunteer assistance in the absence of volunteer teams.
  2. Ability to develop and train volunteers and to maintain communication with all dining site volunteers.
  3. Must comply with organization requirements to collect and report necessary statistics.
  4. Perform administrative duties including submitting any necessary paperwork to the Central Office in a timely manner.
  5. Manage inventory at the dining site and create a welcoming atmosphere by maintaining site cleanliness and safety.
  6. Communicate with Central Office staff and attend monthly staff meetings.
  7. Represent Loaves and Fishes in a positive manner while promoting program mission and vision at all times.
  8. Duties as assigned.
