Primary Duties:


ISAIAH is seeking a Community Organizer to build relationships with childcare center owners in key regions of Minnesota for the purpose of building a state-wide movement of parents, early childhood workers and childcare centers to join the fight for affordable and high quality childcare for all Minnesotans. 
This individual will:

 Build a network of childcare center owners, parents and community leaders who will work together to advance an agenda for universal, affordable childcare for all Minnesotans.  Raise awareness of the crisis facing Minnesota’s families around the lack of affordable childcare, the scarcity of resources given to the providers and childcare workers to provide essential care to our youngest children.

Have the capacity to learn and understand the state policy landscape around childcare and early childhood education.

Work with grassroots community leaders, providers, childcare workers and parents to design and execute successful organizing campaigns and legislative agendas at a local and state level.

Explore alignments with labor, faith and community-based organizations.

Build strong relationship with supervisor and be willing to develop self through feedback/agitation from organizing staff and grassroots leaders.

Show strong commitment to racial justice and economic justice


The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications:

  •  2+ Years of community organizing with campaign and base-building experience. 
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work with diverse faith communities, racial/ethnic groups and diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet applications.



  • Fluency in Spanish and / or Somali

All applicants must have reliable transportation, a driver’s license and be able to show proof of valid auto insurance.
