Organization Summary:

 MISSION STATEMENT:  Wishes & More® enhances the life of a child fighting a terminal or life-threatening condition by providing extraordinary experiences... and more...

PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of Wishes & More® is to serve children between birth and 19 years who are battling terminal and life-threatening conditions which require ongoing treatment.  We not only grant them a wish, we also provide them with a Scholarship of Hope® to be used for higher education. In the event a child does not survive to have a wish fulfilled, we provide the parents with a $1,000 Memorial grant to be used at their discretion.

LOCAL AND PROUD OF IT: Wishes & More® is a Minnesota based 501(c)3 children’s charity.  We serve children of Minnesota and bordering states and we “fill the gap” for the children and families who may be outside of larger, national organizations. We are made up of seasoned wish granting experts who want to provide a wonderful wish experience to qualified children and their families.

Job Type: Intern - Unpaid Salary: unpaid
Hours: 8-20 hours per week  

Primary Duties:

 Job Description: Will work closely with the Sr. Director of Communications & Development in order to assist in all aspects of marketing and communications. Responsibilities will cover a wide variety of duties such as event promotion and planning as well as volunteer coordination and photo/video editing. 

Time Commitment: Weekly commitment – 10-20 hours per week 

• Compose press releases for upcoming events and stand-out wish stories
• Write wish stories and create wish posters 
• Represent Wishes & More at internal and external meetings & events
• Edit and create videos 
• Design creative elements for inclusion in videos or printed recognitions
• Effectively communicate with a large group of volunteers
• Assist in event planning and execution of major fundraising events for Wishes & More
• Other duties as assigned.

Time Commitment: Weekly commitment – 8-20 hours per week 
September - April



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be an active listener 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences 
  • Willingness to accept a variety of tasks
  • Career interest in non-profit organization
  • Positive attitude
