Today, CLUES is Minnesota’s largest Latino agency and serves the community in four distinct areas: Health and Family Well-being, Economic Vitality, Educational Achievement, and Civic and Cultural Engagement. Primary Duties:

POSITION SUMMARY



Gain experience in non-profit communications and marketing by assisting staff in engaging clients, donors, volunteers, staff and community members using a variety of media platforms. Activities may include assisting with electronic and print communications, public relations efforts, marketing materials, event-related communications, Facebook/Twitter or other social media and community outreach efforts.

Location: 1 opening available in St Paul

Schedule: 8 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks. More hours preferred. Flexible scheduling during regular business hours.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Will vary based on current need. General responsibilities may include:

-Collecting and compiling stories from staff and clients

-Drafting and distributing press releases to local media outlets

-Drafting content for internal and external publications and assisting with distributioncertificates and marriage certificates.

-Publicizing upcoming events

-Maintaining an active, relevant presence on Twitter and Facebook

-Taking, editing and archiving photographs of CLUES programs and events

-Planning and coordinating event logistics

-Promotes the mission, operating values, and agency services of CLUES within the community.

-Carries out all other duties as assigned by supervisor.



CLUES reserves the right to terminate an internship or volunteer commitment if behavior is not in compliance with CLUES policies.


Experience:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

-Applicants should be pursing or hold a degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.

-Bilingual in Spanish and English and cultural sensitivity and awareness required.

-Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills.

-Strong computer background and knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.

-Must be organized, have the ability to work under pressure and stress, have attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

-Self-motivated and proactive problem solver.

-Knowledgeable of and experienced in accessing community resources that can serve client needs preferred.

-We are looking for candidates who are responsible, punctual, flexible and who exhibit a high level of interpersonal maturity.

-Must pass a criminal background check
