Hours: Fall 2017 10-20 hours per week (flexible hours) 
 

Primary Duties:

RMHC-UM is seeking an intern to support Ronald McDonald House Programs, including Lil’ Nugget Storytime (program for ages 3-5), afterschool programs for school age children and adult and family programs during the evening. Responsibilities consist of planning, organizing, and leading activities, crafts, lesson plans, parties, and other various House events. 

 
The following is an estimate of the duties to be included in the internship. The exact duties and projects will be determined by mutual agreement of the intern and RMHC-UM staff.  All duties will be carried out with the direction and supervision of the Family Services Coordinator and School Teacher.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise onsite activities for 3-5 year old children.
  • Plan, prep and lead onsite activities for school age children on weekday afternoons.
  • Weekly activity planning for nightly programs
  • Organize special House events
  • Assist/work one on one with Family Services Coordinator
 
Periodic Tasks
  • Birthday party prep and co-host
  • Various Programming Office tasks

Experience:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

 
  • Comfortable with children with potentially fragile medical conditions
  • Strong creativity
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to multitask and deal with multiple personalities and situations
  • Interest in non-profits or family programming preferred
  • Available from September – December 2017 with option to continue January-May 2018
