Raising our mission-awareness in communities is a top priority. And we understand that after raising awareness, it takes time to build relationships with the people who are most interested in our work and most likely to become lifelong fans. But what if there was one simple system to streamline engagement of influencers, volunteers, and donors? There is.

There is a Yin and Yang to Behind The Scenes (BTS) Experiences. Attend this session and understand the fundamentals of how smaller nonprofits can reasonably scale this model to meet their community needs. Whether that’s engaging experienced volunteers, connecting with essential influencers for broader community understanding, stewarding potential donors (from corporate sponsors to individuals to foundations) to fund your mission or a combination of all three.

Learn how to simplify your engagement process and produce better outcomes. And virtually eliminate the need for cold calling.

Attendees of this engaging session will:

The workshop will cater to the special needs of small to medium sized nonprofit organizations, from all volunteer charities to those with one or two paid development staff. We strongly encourage board members, stakeholders, and volunteers to participate alongside executive directors and development officers.


Principles & Practices

In an effort to support nonprofits in fulfilling their missions, this workshop will help to focus your work on the following practices:

  • TRANS 6: A nonprofit should provide its constituents with ongoing opportunities to interact with the organization’s leadership about its activities and be responsive to raised concerns.
  • TRANS 9: A nonprofit should provide multiple ways for constituents to request information or provide input.
  • FUND 15: A nonprofit should plan its communications to tell the story of the organization and maintain consistent, mission-focused and timely communication with donors.
  • LEAD 9: Leaders should actively communicate how the organization’s activities produce the intended change in the community and inspire others to affect that change through fundraising, advocacy and programming.
  • LEAD 14: Nonprofit leaders should foster a culture of information sharing and interaction between the board and others in the organization so that innovation and creativity can come from diverse parts of the organization.

About the Presenter
