This interactive workshop is for anyone who is responsible for developing or executing your organization’s digital storytelling and content strategy. What’s that? Your organization doesn’t have a strategy? This workshop is for you, too. Effective storytelling through digital writing is a powerful communication tool that weaves a thread through strategic goals, meaningful engagement with stakeholders, and a deeper impact.

With an emphasis on effective writing for blogs, social media, email updates, and newsletters, participants will explore practical strategies and get hands-on support to craft an action plan that fits their organization’s goals.

You will walk away with tools and resources to:

  • Measure the effectiveness of your writing efforts

Principles & Practices

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is committed to offering training sessions that support the Principles & Practices for Nonprofit Excellence. This workshop helps us achieve the following:

  • FUND 15: A nonprofit should plan its communications to tell the story of the organization and maintain consistent, mission-focused and timely communication with donors.
  • FUND 16: Nonprofits should establish a thorough understanding of their key  audiences and regularly assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and tools used to reach those audiences. A nonprofit should adjust its strategies over time to best match technologies to its audiences’ communication.

About the Presenters

Brandi Olson is founder and chief change artist at The Olson Group. With expertise in education, organizational learning and change, and human-centered design, Brandi builds the capacity of mission-driven organizations to thrive during times of change through agile strategic planning, practical evaluation, and agile transformation. Brandi is passionate about teaching organizations how to harness the super power of effective storytelling in every strategic planning and evaluation engagement.

Mo Perry is co-founder of Logosphere Wordsmiths. The common thread that connects all of Mo's work is a voracious curiosity and passion for compelling storytelling. Whether donning a brand voice, articulating a value proposition, or distilling the essence of a nuanced idea in an essay or article, her commitment is always to communicating a core of truth with style, charisma, clarity and heart. Her work has appeared in local and national publications, and her clients range from solopreneurs to Fortune 500 companies.

Quinton Skinner is co-founder of Logosphere Wordsmiths and has spent the last 25 years as a professional storyteller. He is a communications specialist, writer, and editor of wide-ranging material including long-form journalism, contemporary fiction and nonfiction, arts criticism and magazine articles, and branded communications with extensive background in consulting and strategic ideation. He has worked in leadership positions in commercial publishing as well as large-scale nonprofit communications.
