You’ve set up Google Analytics, monitor your Facebook administrator page and have your news alerts set. There’s no shortage of data: you know how many visitors, page views, bounces, followers and likes you’re generating. But what do these statistics really tell you about your audience, and how can this insight contribute to the bigger organizational picture as well as day-to-day content? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to go beyond the numbers to measure true engagement and discover how to integrate these analytics into your short-term and long-term communications planning.

About the Series

Thorough planning and thoughtful execution are key components to any successful campaign, whether you’re promoting new programs or reaching out to your core for financial support. Many communicators sketch out their work well in advance and create a schedule to follow for the rest of the year. But does your communications plan stay relatively the same from year to year, or is it flexible and responsive? How do you create action from ideas when it comes to strategy, budgeting, tactics and analysis?

From Paper to Practice: Real World Communications Planning, the 2013 Nonprofit Communicators Workshop Series, will help you put your plan to work. This series of four workshops, presented by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and the Minnesota chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, will guide you through the process of putting pen to paper, then getting that plan off the paper and into action.

About the Presenters

Kate BormanKate Borman, communications coordinator, supports Nonprofits Assistance Fund’s programs through communications, outreach, and program coordination, including maintenance of the website, and implementation of the annual marketing plan. Kate has worked in nonprofit marketing communications for over five years. She graduated from the University of Minnesota – Morris with a B.A. in English. Kate also serves on the Outreach Committee at LegalCORPS. When she isn’t ogling data and analytics, she enjoys unplugging from technology to enjoy the arts.

Kristine_Remer.Kristine Remer is an independent user experience designer in Minneapolis. She specializes in user research, user experience design, usability testing and content strategy. In a nutshell, Kristine helps companies increase their bottom line and more effectively connect with their target audiences. Over the past 15 years, Kristine has worked with leading organizations such as 3M, Best Buy, Capella University, Carmex, Ceridian, The Home Depot, General Mills, Iron Mountain, Lifetouch, Mayo Clinic, Metro Transit, Minnesota Life, National Pork Board, Thomson Reuters, UnitedHealth Group and the Wall Street Journal. Kristine has an M.B.A. from Webster University. Her undergraduate degree is in journalism and art from St. Olaf College.
