The ever-expanding list of social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Kickstarter, to name a few – offers nonprofits exciting opportunities to engage and connect with their supporters. With so many options, how do you decide which, if any, to use? This session provides an in-depth look at what each platform has to offer, and how to use the power of social media to increase the support for your mission.
This workshop is part of the 2012 Nonprofit Communicator Workshop Series, Emotional Alchemy: Transforming Messages into Audience Action.
About the Series
Ever since humans developed the capacity for speech, storytelling has been at the heart of human relations. Your nonprofit has a story – a message – that needs telling. Although the medium keeps changing in the ever-evolving world of communications, as long as the story is compelling, people will listen. So how do you translate your mission and your passion in a way that touches people’s emotions? What moves them from feeling to action?
Emotional Alchemy: Transforming Messages into Audience Action, the 2012 Nonprofit Communicators Workshop Series, is designed to help you craft a message that gets to the heart of the matter. This series of four workshops, presented by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and the Minnesota chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, will present you with ways to inspire your audience to take their engagement to the next level.
The 4-part series includes the following workshops:
- Engaging Emotional Creatures - Bringing Science to Your Communications, October 23
- Fundraising Through Social Media, November 6
- Websites that Stick, November 27
- Once Upon a Time…on YouTube?, December 11
You can register for this single session in the series by clicking on the above Register Now button, or you register for the entire series of four workshops and save up to $30! The series is $150 for all four workshops for MCN and IABC members/$240 for all four workshops for nonmembers.
