In the 2012 general election, Minnesota voters will make critical public policy decisions on statewide constitutional amendments and local ballot measures. The result of these ballot questions could have a direct impact on nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.

In this training intended for organizations that may spend more than $5,000 on their ballot question advocacy, we will focus on topics including:

  • how 501(c)3 nonprofits can be effective advocates for or against ballot questions;
  • reporting your expenses to the IRS
  • understanding Minnesota State campaign finance reporting requirements
