Cultural intelligence is the unique ability to identify, recognize, and acknowledge the differences and similarities that exist between and among cultural groups and systems. This session provides nonprofit managers and leaders with a model, cultural intelligence, which is useful to engaging, managing and leading diverse staff and to creating systems and processes that are culturally competent.

About the Presenter

Mai MouaMai Moua is the founder and president of Leadership Paradigms, Inc., a consulting firm which specializes in leadership and organizational development and training. She is Hmong-American and came to the United States in 1979 as a refugee from Thailand. Mai has presented her research and conducted workshops on leadership and organizational effectiveness to an internationally diverse audience consisting of leadership scholars and academics, executives and directors, practitioners and students on a national and international level including the Middle East, Europe and Canada. She currently teaches graduate level courses in public and nonprofit management and leadership and management communication.
