| Fee: Free |
Please join the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits for a special opportunity to hear from Minnesota’s
Attorney General Lori Swanson. This event will provide an opportunity to hear Attorney General Swanson’s views on the importance of the role of the charitable sector in Minnesota in carrying out essential and aspirational services for our communities.
As the state’s chief law enforcer in the areas of consumer protection, antitrust enforcement and charities regulation, Attorney General Swanson represented the citizens of Minnesota in the judicial and special master proceedings related to Minnesota’s 2011 government shutdown. In this instance she made the case for the importance of many services provided by the nonprofit sector that ultimately led to the re-instatement of some domestic violence and sexual assault services, HIV prevention, child care assistance, and many others.
Additionally, the Charities Division of the Attorney General’s office serves a public accountability role for charities and offers protection to the donor community. We hope you will join us for this conversation with the one of the nonprofit sector’s primary government partners.
Change of Location
To accommodate more participants, this event will now be held at Children's Home Society & Family Service (1605 Eustis St, St. Paul) instead of at Wilder Center. In order to ensure adequate parking, please carpool if possible.
